Friday Night Mixtape
Hey Everyone,
Today, I heard about one of the coolest sites ever. It’s called mixwit.com. It’s basically a service that allows you to make mixtapes! I haven’t made a mixtape and/or mix cd in years! Ever since satellite radio and mp3 players, I don’t find the need to make my own mixes anymore. But, there’s something pretty nostalgic about making your own mixes. I used to have tons of them in my car. Of course, back then, you could only record from the cds or tapes that you already had.
Anyway, let me explain the mix above titled, “Getting Liquor’d up at the Pez Convention”. I actually made a mix tape pretty similar to what I have above. The whole store behind the title goes as follows: A little known secret of mine is that I collect pez dispensers. I’ve been doing it since I was about 11 years old. Anyway, later in life, when I was about 19, I found out there was going to be a pez convention in town. So, me and my girlfriend at the time went to the pez convention. While sitting there playing ‘pez bingo’, we noticed there was an bar where people kept getting tons of drinks. And thats where the phrase “getting liquor’d up at the pez convention” comes from. Maybe someday I’ll go back to another pez convention and write an article about it. It’s probably the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done. I guess that’s not saying much.
Anyway, if I remember I may make a monthly or weekly mix of about 10 songs or so. It should be a fun thing to do. Have a good weekend!

I always wind up coming up with phrases that I used and no one knows what I’m talking about. Like “Sniffing the purple pie man”…what are some of your favorite pez dispensers? I know I have a bunch that I always kept. I have the stormtrooper, darth vader, luke rebel pilot, incredible hulk, the old style batman, and a few others. The ones I always wanted were the entire line of flintstones. They were cool looking. You should do an entry on your collection!
I guess, I could do an article on my pez collection. I had a bunch still in the package, but the glue deteriorated, and well, they aren’t in their packages anymore. It’s been about 5 years since I’ve regularly collected them, I’ve moved on to shot glasses since then. I guess the reason was all of a sudden pez started putting out every cartoon character imaginable, and it started getting hard to collect everyone. I guess my favorite would have be and 1970s Droopy.
I was actually thinking about going to the convention this year, just to take some pictures and write an article on it. It actually comes to St. Louis every year. I haven’t been in over 10 years though…
I guess I gotta dig out my collection. 🙂
You have to see these! They are awesome Greg…http://tomztoyz.blogspot.com/2008/04/canadian-2008-batman-pez-candy.html
