Star Wars Holiday Special

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Yes, I know it’s tomorrow, but I didn’t think I’d have time tomorrow to write anything up on here today.

In “kicking off” the Holiday season, I thought I’d write a little blurb about the Best Worst Holiday Movie/Special ever. You see, back in the late 70s, Star Wars was the most popular thing at the time. They were green-lighted to make a second movie, but it wasn’t going to be complete for another year or so. So, to fill in the Star Wars void, they created the biggest pile of crap in the star wars filmography, The Star Wars Holiday Special.

It was came out 29 years ago in November 1978. A 2 hour event! About 8 years ago, I bought a copy of the special off someone from eBay. I figured, that it couldn’t be as bad as people say. I mean after all, it is Star Wars. Well, the reviews from everyone were right. This was awful. I mean the first 15 minutes has Wookies talking to each other without subtitles! So all you hear is “Arrrggghhh GRRRRrrr gggggggghhhhh”. I guess all the actors from Star Wars: A New Hope, were obligated by contract to star in this made for TV movie. Plus, they put some of the “celebrities” of the era, like Bea Arthur & Art Carney. But, I can’t really sum it up in words. Since, everything is on the internet nowadays, here it is in it’s entirety:

The Star Wars Holiday Special

enjoy!
